CSMS
In the last session of the Connecticut legislature, the CSP advocacy leadership renewed our working relationship with the Connecticut State Medical Society (CSMS) on a bill aiming to increase Medicaid payment for pathology and laboratory services. We urge CSP members to consider joining CSMS (and let us know if you do) so that we can increase the strength of our voice through CSMS on future legislative issues. The Medicaid payment bill ultimately did not pass the legislature.
CAP
This Fall, the CAP's advocacy efforts have focused on Medicare payments to pathologists, which are slated to be cut for 2025. If you receive alerts from the CAP to email our representatives in Washington, please review the request and consider clicking "send". These emails do make a difference.
Also consider putting CAP's "Hill Day" on your calendar for 2025 (April 27-29, immediately after the House of Delegates meeting). Join your fellow Nutmeggers down in Washington and lobby our members of Congress in person! (If it sounds intimidating, don't worry. There a prep sessions and you'll be with experienced colleagues.) You don't need to be a Delegate to partcipate in Hill Day.
